  • What a joke! I purchased these wellies for my wife 8 months ago and, despite the fact that her previous pair had split not too long after purchase. She was exceedingly pleased with them and loved them from the outset. However, she wore them irregularly and now, after just 8 months this pair has split along the welts of each boot – JUST LIKE THE PREVIOUS PAIR! What do Joules Customer Services say about this: ‘Contact Amazon, they sold them to you’!

Well the best way I know to contact Amazon is by reviewing the product and shaming the manufacturer. What a shocking response from a supposedly reputable company. If I could give them NO STARS I would.

AVOID JOULES WELLIES LIKE THE PLAGUE! THEY ARE NOT WORTH A PENNY AND THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICES ARE A DISGRACE!

Now where’s the contact for Amazon and then Emma at Joules Cutomer Services better stand back from her computer screen!

UPDATE 26 June 2020. Joules, having been sent this review, have offered a replacement pair or a £50 voucher.

  • Disappointed to get second hand product.
This was a gift for Mother’s Day, I was looking forward to getting a brand new fancy box and boots inside. The box was heavily damaged which is not a good thing when you are giving a present to someone who loves quality packaging and things to be well presented. The wellingtons had clearly been tried on before as the souls has some marks on them, the tissue paper they were wrapped in had been ripped and was unprofessionally wrapped with the boots. I could tell straight away that someone had already bought these boots and tried them on maybe used them for a while before sending them back and I got the leftovers but still paid full price. I would have been happy with this if I got a discount but there was no money off. I tried sending these boots back for a new pair but they are now unavailable looks like I got the last leftover pair. My mother has them so too late to send them back now. Very dissatisfied.

  • I got a size 5. I’m a widish 4.5 or 5 depending on make. These are bigger and roomier (wider) than Hunters 5. Like I said though I’m a small 5. Like Hunters wellies you need thick socks for a good fit and warmth. I love really them! I have tried them in every terrain. I have ran in them too. The ankle is also wider then Hunter but they don’t flop about. They’re very comfortable and look so nice on. For half the price as Hunters they are even better. I was going to get more Hunters but last 2 pair have split on my on the foot making them leak after a few months. Also I found with these they seem more water proof as mud doesn’t seem to cling to them like Hunters. If you have a smaller or wider carves there is an adjustable strap at the back of these wellies with 3 fittings (which also looks cute). I highly recommend these boot 5 Stars!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

  • Quite heavy and thick. Insoles are shifting around while walking so had to remove them.
Not as “shiny” as in the shop, in fact some sort of dirt covered like powder or so in patches. If was the full price would defo return. But for £37 will keep as need boots but it’s not as stylish as was intended to be.

  • I love Joules Wellies, this particular pair are smart, comfortable and a good price. They are a good, reliable pair of wellies, hard wearing, long-lasting, and they don’t leak. I wear these with a pair of Joules welly socks when it is really cold. I use mine on an almost daily basis during the winter to walk my dogs. They wash well and I highly recommend them if you are looking to buy.

  • After much deliberation I went ahead and purchased these as a cheaper replacement for my Hunters which I foolishly destroyed by running through the washing machine (lesson / warning there). They are a very pretty boot and Joules store assistants tell me the tread should be good in snow and slush (seen other ladies wear Joules in the snow and walking fine).

Besides having ruined my Hunters I’m hoping these will be ok in more icy conditions, because the Hunters were rubbish in that respect IME. Compared with the latter, I have to warn anyone into nice wellies that these are less stylishly cut on the leg: they are far tighter on the calf – maybe half an inch diff…? And they are far baggier on the ankle. I’m a shoe size 5, 5’3”, and dress size 12-14 atm. My calf measurement is 16.25”. So if you have calves chunkier than that, be warned you will struggle to get these on and you might risk cutting off your circulation if you do get them on.

Having worn with jeans around the house for an hour, I dare say I’ll have a red welt on each leg but it’s not digging into my skin to the point of pain or being aware of the tops of the boots. See photos. The snug fit will, I suppose, help stop the welly sagging too much on the ankles since they are baggier there.

Also just to mention that as a size 5 (Eur 38), these are about half a size big but in the size 4 my toes are literally up against the front of the shoe. So it’ll have to be the 5 with thicker socks.

All in all, at the price I paid I think I’ll keep. Oh and I tried the adjustable Joules field welly with gusset and they gape massively at the top, so are going back; you have to take your choice. Hunters these are not, but look really great, lovely matte rubber with a bit of stretch, non stinky material (don’t smell like rubber gloves), soft lining bright and a super cute box / packaging too.

  • Look at the packaging, I got a pair of wellton socks for new wellies. I’m very pleased with the look and finish of my new boots. I’m ready for the downpours! I recommend this product

  • I bought these quite a while back but not used them much. After only a few uses they were no longer waterproof?? I should have sent them back then, as they have done nothing but annoy me ever since. Now a little over a year after buying them I’ve had enough, these wellies are absolute crap for my intended use (short walks with the dog while raining), I haven’t been able to as much as walk in wet grass without getting wet for about 6 months. I expected more quality for the price, definitely!!!!
