I bought these boots on September 9th, at first these boots were very comfy and light, within five weeks of wearing them the heel on the left hand boot collapsed and the toe on the right hand boot leaks. It is now Oct 14th and they are unwearable and destined for the bin. Most disappointingly of all, I have had no response from the seller on the matter. I have spoken to Jack pyke the manufacturer who were very helpful and would be happy to refund, but said the matter had to be dealt with by the seller ‘the golden bear’. The seller has not responded to my messages, I hold out little hope of a refund. In short, I’m sure these boots would be fine for occasional wear, but they are not for everyday use, and I would not expect great customer service from this seller.
I used these to do a full days beating across all types of terrain with my dogs ,open ploughed fields , corn rows hidden streams in a valley , slippery rocks tarmac roads you name it we went to drive out the birds on it , these were VERY comfortable they aren’t as rigid as a normal welly but have support in the right places they grip the terrain brilliantly and have a nice soft supportive sole the neoprene top around your calf doesn’t cut of circulation and almost forms a seal had bone dry feet and the end of the day and usually my feet will sweat in normal wellies and get damp but not in theses .After the full day it felt like I had been wearing trainers fresh out the box no rubbing or blisters and no aches . Only thing I found is the insoles did tend to slip back but this didn’t bother me I took them out and was just as comfortable but I plan to double side tape them in . Only thing I found is they came up a little long from heel to toe so maybe go a size down as the tops of theses have a lot of give
Used these boots for nothing more strenuous than walking in fields. They split accross the top of the foot after less than three months. The seller just refers you to Amazon who tell you it is past the return date. I bought a pair of these before which lasted a year before splitting and gave them the benefit of the doubt as a year’s use seemed just about ok and they were comfortable.
Worn for a month on wet days just for walking the dog and they have already fallen apart. The heel has collapsed and the the seems have given way. Luckily I am in time to return
Initially I gave these boots a really good review. Recently they have started leaking, I have found that the seal between the heal and recap areas is breaking down. There is no split or obvious damage. I appreciate I have had these boots for around 18 months, but they haven’t been over used and they have been stored and cared for as per instructions. I think they should lasted longer.
This is my second pair of these wellies after the first pair split within a couple of months use, the same has happened to my second pair. The heels on both wellies have split and leak water in, and after just a couple of months use are unwearable. After several attempts to contact The Golden Bear I have received no response? Please think before purchasing these from this retailer, in my experience the boots have been faulty and “customer services” do not respond. Disappointed customer.
Not quite as comfy as Le Chameu but seem to be better made. Gone are the days when the camels lasted years – now we are lucky to have them last a full season. These, on the other hand are standing up well and are a fraction of the cost.
As a lady with wide feet and a high i step these boots are perfect. I wear size 6 ladies. I need room for an arch support. Been wearing my new boots for 5 days. Dog walking through mud and ditch s. The most comfortable boots i have ever worn. Great grip and very springy underneath. Like outdoor slippers. When i wear these out they will be replaced with the same
