Manufacturer reference

  • Lack of elastic in the cuff really lets this jacket down. Velcro tighteners are positioned in the wrong place so you can’t tighten without flappy straps which just annoy you.

Overall feels cheaper and more poorly designed than the last 2 jackets I have bought from Mountain Warehouse.

Zips are of a good standard and fleece is decent enough as an under layer

  • This is not a water proof jacket. Never buy it for water proof qualities if you are expecting. Drenched and what more to say. Never recommend this for rainy days. But good for winter wear.

  • Though this is a mans jacket i got it for myself – as a larger lady i have rather thick upper arms and can not find a decent jacket in ladies depts – this is awesome – the inner fleece jacket fits perfect and i can wear a thin jumper under it and with the outer jacket on walking the dog in freezing wet weather i am dry and warm would def recommend this jacket to anyone

  • This jacket only just fits but my issue is it is not waterproof at all. The cord that fastens the inner section is the sleeve broke in no time, no big issue but it is as water resistant as s tea bag. Also why buy spray to waterproof it. It’s like having to buy paint to paint your new car yourself. Plus side it is ok in dry conditions if we have any in the UK otherwise pay more and get something decent.

  • I worried this jacket might not be warm enough for my skiing holiday but in wind chill of -39′ it was fine. My previous version of this jacket had finally worn out the zip – I have been wearing it for 7 or 8 years so they last well. It’s a very practical jacket with separate fleece liner so it’s good in all seasons. The sleeve tabs that hold the fleece in place rip out almost immediately (did in my other one too) but aren’t really necessary so it doesn’t matter.

  • The fit is great but the stitching is poor quality. I’m afraid this will affect the performance in the longterm. I’ve attached pics of the stitching.edited to add – just been caught in a 10 minute shower and it did not hold up at all. Absolutely terrible. Avoid.

  • Although this is a man’s jacket I did buy it for my 14 year old son – sleeves are slightly long, he loves it and it keeps him warm. The added bonus of this jacket is that he can take the separate fleece out at anytime when the weather settles down.

  • I’ve never been a huge fan these “fleece and waterproof” type coats. I much rather have them combined, but for the price I thought I’d give it a try again.

The fleece is warm enough, and the coat waterproof (at least in the little outdoors testing its had), but it’s the little details that annoy me. The two pockets have the covering in such a way that it makes zipping open or closing the pockets a hassle. The inside pockets on the fleece developed a hole in the first day (a fact I discovered indoors, so my lost money was not dropped on the street). The connecting part of the fleece on the sleeve broke pretty quick too.

I still rate 3 stars because these two faults are pretty minor, and the cost still gets me through the the weather I’ve put it though. I’ll likely replace the fleece soon with my own, permanently separate one though.
